Investment Objective
The investment objective is to achieve attractive return primarily on current income (for example from bond coupons and stock dividends) and secondarily by capital appreciation primarily through investments in debt securities and equities
Investment Policies
Subject to the Investment Restrictions, the Fund may invest up to 100% of its Net Asset Value in debt securities. Up to 20% of the Fund’s Net Asset Value may also be invested in equities. The Fund may invest in bonds and notes which may be fixed and/or floating rate, convertible and/or non-convertible, be issued by government and/or corporate issuers and shall also include other transferable securities with debt features (for example warrants) and money market instruments (such as commercial paper).
Investors should note that the Investment Manager intends to focus on non-rated debt instruments and debt instruments rated below investment grade quality, and that such bonds typically have a greater risk of default than investment grade bonds. The portion of non-rated and non-grade debt instruments relative to graded instruments will be evaluated and decided by the Investment Manager in its full discretion in accordance with prevailing market conditions and investment opportunities. The Fund may also invest in investment grade quality debt securities. The Investment Manager intends to invest in debt securities issued by companies in sectors such as but not limited to energy, shipping, real estate and financial services. The Fund will have a consistent focus on debt securities listed or traded on Markets in Norway. The Fund may also invest in debt securities listed or traded on Markets in other EEA countries, the EU and the USA.
The Fund is suitable for investors who are prepared to accept a relatively high level of volatility and risk in return primarily for the potential for high current income and secondarily by capital appreciation. The Fund may invest up to 20% of its Net Asset Value in shares that are listed or traded on Markets in the EU and the EEA countries. The Investment Manager intends to invest in issuers which are expected to pay yearly dividends, regardless of their underlying industry and where the liquidity in the traded stock under normal market conditions, is regarded as high (in relation to the position size).
The Fund’s performance will be measured against ST1X, an index of Norwegian government bonds with a fixed duration of 3 months, calculated by the Oslo Stock Exchange. The components of the Reference Index are chosen daily from a pool of all listed government bonds and government certificates, according to a strict set of criteria published by the Oslo Stock Exchange.
