Direct Investments
NRP has arranged close to 200 projects since initiation.
Typical charachteristics of direct investments are among others;
- Purchase of a property or vessel combined with a long term lease agreement to a reputable counterpart.
- Time scope of 5 - 20 years, on several occasions projects are realized at an earlier stage due to the property or vessel being sold.
- Expected return of 10-18% annually.
- The purchase price is usually financed by 20-50% equity and 50-80% debt.
- Direct Investments are investments in real assets, providing inflation protection. The rent in real estate projects are usually adjusted according to KPI.
- Direct Investments in real estate and shipping have yielded competitive returns and should be a natural part of a investment portfolio.
- Direct Investments is not a liquid asset class when compared to stock listed companies. NRP is actively working to promote purchase and sale of shares.
- Direct Investments tend to be favorable tax-wise.
